The Role

•      Senior Technical Scientist

•      New Dublin-based role in the Manufacturing R&D team

•      Working within the manufacturing R&D team to support product development activities for R&D projects

•      Develop and optimise new and existing enzymatic processes for creating protein hydrolysates

•      Propose & implement quality control measures to ensure process consistency

•      Work cross functionally with the wider Nuritas team to deliver solutions for ongoing projects

 

Responsibilities

•      Supporting R&D project activities through the production of protein hydrolysates

•      Preforming in manufacturing lab-scale investigations into process and product quality

•      Investigating process parameters to identify areas of deviation and/or improvement

•      Optimising workflow processes to maximise manufacturing output, both at lab and pilot scales

•      Problem-solving within projects, providing insights and implementing solutions

•      Presenting findings/results to both Manufacturing and wider Nuritas teams

•      Providing support and expertise to developmental activities, process refinement, scale-up considerations and good lab practices

•      Playing an active role in adhering to and improving lab processes and safety

•      Ensuring the regular maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment

•      Carrying out typical lab administrative duties including stock control, delivery/supplier management, compliance with regulatory policies, procedures, directives and mandates

 

About You

•      Natural ability to problem-solve and adapt to the requirements of an R&D laboratory in a commercial setting

•      Excellent verbal & written communication skills, with an ability to work both independently and as part of a wider, multidisciplinary team

•      Good organisation skills and ability to be flexible within their working environment

•      Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn

•      Ability to multi-task and respond quickly in a fast-paced environment

 

Requirements

•      BSc Degree in Food science, Biotechnology or a related discipline

•      At least 1-2yrs previous experience in a similar biotechnology-focused laboratory

•      Excellent computer skills and experience with LIMs and ELN software is essential

•      Fluent in both written and spoken English

•      Experience with microbial fermentation and protein/peptide expression will be beneficial

•      Previous experience with enzymatic reactions, hydrolysates and/or food processing at lab or pilot scale is a distinct advantage
