The Role

• Microbiologist

• New Dublin-based role

• Driving a project at Nuritas from inception to delivery

• Design and execute assay development and bioactive candidate testing

• Perform data analysis and writing reports

• You are well organised, a good team-player and you pay high attention to detail

 

Responsibilities

Working with several teams and across multiple projects to characterise bioactive peptides through the discovery and early development phases

Broad experience of culturing diverse bacteria and fungi

Experience with bacterial killing assays, adhesion assays, growth curves etc

General laboratory techniques e.g. aseptic tissue culture, ELISA or Western Blotting

Design experiments independently and perform experiments to highest standards

Use of electronic laboratory notebook

Present project results at internal meetings

Present findings to customers as appropriate, with clear analysis and further planning

Play an active role in adhering to and improving the safety of the laboratory

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technical developments, particularly with regards to time-saving, more efficient techniques

Administrative duties including management of equipment and suppliers, compliance with regulatory policies, procedures, directives and mandates

Requirements

• PhD in a relevant biological science

• 2+ years experience in industry is a key advantage

• Experience in working with peptides and proteins is highly advantageous

• Proven ability to deliver results and entire projects in a timely manner

• Proven ability to work independently

• Excellent presentation skills

• Fluency in English

• Computer literate
